Pay Range: $45,000–$80,000 | Hybrid Schedule | Design-Centered Role

Are you a detail-oriented drafter with a passion for civil and structural design? A respected engineering and design firm in downtown Akron is looking for a Civil/Structural Designer I to support a wide range of industrial and infrastructure projects. This position is ideal for early-career professionals or experienced drafters with a technical degree who are eager to apply their skills in a collaborative, mentorship-rich environment.

What You'll Do

Join a multidisciplinary team where you'll support engineering and design projects through precise drafting and modeling using cutting-edge software. Your responsibilities will include:

• Producing detailed civil and structural design drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, and Navisworks

• Developing layouts for foundations, framing systems, and site infrastructure

• Conducting field measurements and collecting design data at client sites

• Interpreting existing conditions and incorporating real-world data into project models

• Ensuring drawings are accurate, code-compliant, and constructible

• Coordinating with engineers and other designers for cohesive project delivery

• Learning and using modern tools like BIM, laser scanning, and GPS surveying

What Youll Bring

• 2–5 years of drafting/design experience (entry-level applicants with strong technical foundations are welcome!)

• Associates or vocational degree in Computer-Aided Drafting & Design (CADD) or equivalent experience

• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Civil 3D, Revit, or Navisworks is a plus

• Willingness and ability to travel locally for fieldwork

• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Valid drivers license and ability to pass pre-employment screening

This is not an engineering role—its a design-driven position for CAD specialists who enjoy producing high-quality, detail-oriented drawings.
